Other Types of Pay
Additional Pay is used to provide additional compensation to individuals currently on the Northwestern payroll and receiving pay. Local HR professionals/administrators work with managers to initiate the request and to obtain approvals from their school/unit leadership.
The reasons for requesting Additional Pay include interim management assignments, performance-based bonus plans, honoraria, temporary change in work assignments, and recognition bonuses.
Special Pay is requested to provide specific, pre-approved payments to individuals who are not currently receiving paychecks from Northwestern.
