Both changes in family status and changes in employment status can make you eligible for a special enrollment period, allowing you to enroll in health insurance outside the yearly open enrollment period.
Employees can make changes to their benefit elections during Open Enrollment or when a family member experiences an IRS Qualifying Event — like adding a child to your family, getting married or position changes.
